How to pick

How to buy replacement coils

  1. 01

    Match the model name exactly

Coils that look identical rarely cross-fit between tanks. Even when threads line up, the wick aperture differs. The model name on the pack has to match your tank.

  2. 02

    Check the resistance value

Coil packs often list multiple resistances (0.4 Ω, 0.8 Ω). The value stamped on your old coil is what to buy again. Different resistances change wattage range and flavour feel.

  3. 03

    Rotate two coils

Two coils swapped every few days outlasts running one coil to burnt. Multipacks make this easy. Authentic packs only — clones strip threads inside a few cycles.

What to know

Priming + lifespan

  1. 01

    Always prime before firing

Three to five drops of e-liquid on the cotton through every wicking hole. Fill the tank. Wait five minutes before the first pull. Skipping this is the most common reason a brand-new coil tastes burnt.

  2. 02

    Stay inside the wattage band

The number stamped on the coil is the design range. Cranking past it shortens coil life from weeks to days and turns the throat hit harsh.

  3. 03

Refill before the tank goes dry

A near-empty tank dries the cotton fast. Topping up at a third full is the easiest way to keep a coil alive its full two-to-three-week run.

Common questions

The honest answers.

  • How do I know which coil fits my tank?

Look at the coil you're replacing. The model code stamped on the side of the coil is the same code on the front of the new pack. Cross-checking by tank brand alone isn't enough — most brands ship multiple coil families.

  • What does the Ω number mean?

Resistance, in ohms. Lower numbers (0.15 Ω, 0.4 Ω) want higher wattage and produce bigger clouds. Higher numbers (0.8 Ω, 1.2 Ω) run cooler and last longer. The wattage range stamped on the coil is the design intent.

  • Why does my new coil taste burnt?

Almost always priming. Drip three to five drops of e-liquid on the cotton through every wicking hole, fill the tank, wait five minutes, take three primer puffs without firing. Then start vaping.

  • How long should a coil last?

Two to three weeks of normal use. Sweet flavours shorten that to one to two weeks. A burnt taste is the signal to swap — pushing past it can damage the device threading.
